A little litter pick
We’ve just come back from an after-school litter pick with members of the Eco Team at Allenbourn Middle school. What an inspiring group of pupils, led brilliantly by Cheryl James, teacher of Science and Maths and our Place Project lead teacher! Having identified places of happiness and sadness in the school grounds the Eco Team pupils decided that a litter pick would be a positive action to take, to not only help wildlife, but also make the school look cleaner and greener! There were 6 pupils and 3 adults picking for only 35 minutes in and around the school entrance and along a nearby road and it was surprising how much rubbish was collected! Single use drink and food packaging, sweet wrappers and cigarette butts were the most numerous! We can’t wait for the next one!
